Retooling Your Classroom Teaching students who will live to see the 22nd century requires a paradigm shift away from delivery of content towards competencies such as problem-solving, critical thinking and creativity. Educators will learn how to create innovative learning environments in this daylong session.

Participants will learn a variety of developmentally appropriate methods and tools to assess what students know and are able to do in a standards-based grading environment. Four concurrent workshops will be offered by master teachers in the following areas:
- Unit design: Shaping the how and what of our instruction.
- Aligning Assessments to the Standards: Grading students based on mastery.
- Student Self-Reflection: Increasing student ownership for learning.
- Evidence of Learning: How do students show what they know.
